“Let me get the door for you!”
Imagine someone standing at a doorway—but their arms are completely full. They’re carrying everything: trauma, fear, shame, survival instincts, broken trust, and the weight of everything they’ve had to endure just to make it this far. Their capacity is maxed out.
The barrier isn’t willingness.
It isn’t desire.
It’s that they simply cannot open the door on their own.
Have you ever found yourself carrying a load that is causing you to buckle and a door stands before you, but suddenly someone comes up and says, “Here! Let me get that for you! It looks like your hands are full!”? You know that relief, gratefulness and sense of belonging—of community? That sense that someone else sees you and all you are carrying and whether they know you or not, are willing to step in and help if even for a moment?
For many survivors of sexual exploitation, this is where the journey begins. Not with strength, not with clarity—but with full hands and no way forward; but we have the opportunity to come alongside her and say, “Hey! I see you! Let me get the door for you!”
Because before healing can begin…before burdens can be set down…before identity can be restored…
Someone has to go before them and open the door.
Someone has to say,
“You are safe here.”
“You are seen.”
“You are welcome to come in, just as you are.”
At Zeteo Community, that is our calling.
We open the door to safe housing.
We open the door to trauma-informed care that helps untangle what’s been carried for far too long.
We open the door to community—where women are no longer isolated, but known.
And we open the door to the love of God, where true restoration and transformation begins.
Because once that door is opened, something powerful happens.

A woman can step across the threshold.
She can begin to lay things down.
She can start sorting truth from lies, pain from identity, survival from purpose.
And over time with care, consistency and grace—what once filled her hands no longer defines her life, and each one of us can help open the doors, making it possible for women to step into safety, healing, and ultimately into hope.

Leadership persepctives
We’re truly grateful to walk together with all of you on this amazing journey. There is something special about the connection that happens when friends move forward together.
Speaking of moving forward, let’s remind ourselves that this is more than an organization. It is part of a larger anti-trafficking movement that will bring lasting change to our region and beyond. It is beyond our natural abilities, yet we are all vital partners who get to witness amazing things happen when each of us simply takes the next step in front of us.
There are times in our walk with God and with one another when the path feels narrow and steep, but it is often in those moments that the greatest progress is being made. It’s amazing
how God can take challenging journeys and turn them into deep bonds between people, because when we walk with God and with friends, it truly becomes about the joy of the journey.
With gratitude and expectation,
Kenton & Marlene

Walk with us this summer
The long-awaited summer months are here! If you live here in the midwest with us, you know how the sunshine and warmth can reset our mindset, energy and even daily routines. What if we told you this summer we are empowering each of us to take that same shift into our neighborhoods to see how God wants to transform our community?
This summer, we invite you to Walk with Us—a simple but meaningful opportunity to take a prayer walk in your own neighborhood once a week to intentionally step into this season with intention.
If you have never done a prayer walk before, you aren’t alone! We will provide you once a month with a devotional designed to inspire you, weekly scripture to spur on your prayer time along with creative ways to connect with God and others through mixed media, playlists and potentially even a community walk together at the end of the summer (details to come!).
This summer, let’s move forward beyond the walls of our own homes and into our streets—one prayerful step at a time. Whether you walk for ten minutes or an hour, alone or with family and friends, every step matters because prayer can (and does) change our community.
Will you walk with us?

“There I will give back her vineyards to her and transform her Valley of Trouble into a Door of Hope.” Hosea 2:15a
Journey Update connects you to the mission of Zeteo Community: To serve women who have been sexually exploited by providing residential programming and a supportive community in which they are free to dream and thrive.
